Things to like about living here
The oncoming car was stopped. Parked. Engine off. Sitting still in the road, watching the birds in front of it.
The turkeys weren't seeming stressed, or confused, or realizing that in two weeks time their species would be the prime main dish on most citizens' plates.
No one was hitting their horn and blasting by.
Of course, before too long, some car did rush by, honking, the birds panicked and flew, and the other driver and I continued on our ways. But we both looked pleased with the interlude.

We're still waiting for our turkeys to show up. I know they're out there, but they're elusive. Maybe they'll show themselves when your here.
