Today's ride was fun, down the hill to Pittsfield where I stopped at Berkshire Organics for a cup of coffee and a cookie. The coffee was pretty good, black and hot. I don't much eat cookies. The ride took me back up Washington Mountain Road, my first real climb since returning from the land of climbing.
Disliking whining, I will tell you nothing about the weather, the shortening of daylight or how little riding I've been doing since returning home. It is now autumn in New England.
But that color in the sky certainly is good to see.
It looks like a pretty good autumn to me, notwithstanding the shorter days (which are a pain).
ReplyDeleteNot whining, I didn't mention that there have been fewer than three sunny days in the last 21 since I've been home. We needed the rain, but it becomes wearying. That's why I so appreciated the blue! Yes, those short days are a pain andI imagine yours are even shorter than mine. A nuisance.
DeleteI spent 28 years living in Albany, Boston and Providence. New England falls are pretty but they can be cold and wet and ugh. Of course, New England winters make New England falls feel utterly joyous.
ReplyDeleteHurry April!!!
P.S. Cookies make it all seem better.
Funny you mention April, I heard people at work saying the same thing today. New England winters with enough snow to ski are better than cold rain, anyday, in my book!
